First look at Sam in “My Cousin Rachel”

We finally have our first look at Sam in his upcoming movie “My Cousin Rachel” in which he will star opposite Rachel Weisz and his “The Riot Club” co-star, Holliday Grainger. Filming is still underway but the movie is set for release in 2017.

My Cousin Rachel will be adapted from Daphne Du Maurier’s gothic romance novel of the same name, about a young Englishman called Philip who inherits his guardian’s Cornish estate. Philip soon finds himself falling for his beguiling cousin Rachel, but his feelings are complicated when evidence suggests that she murdered Philip’s guardian and is only showing an interest in Philip to steal his inheritance.

“Their Finest Hour and a Half” Starts Filming

Sam posted a picture on his instagram yesterday along with a note stating that filming has begun for “Their Finest Hour and a Half”. The movie is directed by Lone Scherfig who had previously worked with Sam on “The Riot Club” and he will be starring with Gemma Arterton and Bill Nighy.

The film is described as “a romantic comedy with a difference set in the early 1940s” and a “portrayal of a young woman screenwriter finding her way in matters of life, death and the heart.” Read the official synopsis below and get excited! We will post more information (and pictures hopefully, lots of it) as soon as they become available so keep checking back.

Sam Claflin Eyed to Star in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’

Sam Claflin is being eyed for one of the starring roles in “Star Wars: Rogue One,” while Riz Ahmed is in talks to join the cast as well, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Disney and the actors’ reps had no comment.

Felicity Jones and Ben Mendelsohn are set to star in “Rogue One,” which was recently revealed to be a heist actioner involving a group of resistance fighters who unite to steal the plans to the Death Star.

Gareth Edwards is directing the film, which will take place between the events of Episode III, “Revenge of the Sith,” and the original “Star Wars” film, “A New Hope.”

While Claflin does not have the role yet, he is the frontrunner for one of the ensemble roles. He has a lot of experience as a supporting player in blockbusters ranging from “Snow White and the Huntsman” to “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Hunger Games,” but he is being eyed for a more substantial role in “Rogue One.”

“Star Wars: Rogue One” will be released Dec. 16, 2016.

Claflin and Ahmed, best known for “Four Lions” and “Nightcrawler,” are both repped by CAA.
