Sam to Attend Giffoni Film Festival

It has just been recently announced that Sam will attend the Giffoni Film Festival this year on July 21 to premiere Me Before You! You can read the press release below!

The British actor will visit Giffoni on July 21 with the premiere of “Me Before You

Based on the Jojo Moyes novel of the same title, Me Before You tells the love story of Will Traynor (Claflin), a young, rich banker, whose life changes dramatically after an accident leaves him almost totally paralyzed and in a wheel chair, and his new assistant Lou Clark, (Emilia Clarke from HBO’s hit series “Game of Thrones”), who will turn his life upside down yet again. The film is helmed by first time director Thea Sharrock.

Claflin is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His breakthrough role was the 2010 television mini-series The Pillars of the Earth, based on the Ken Follett novel of the same title, and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. He went on to play Philip Swift alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz in the fourth film of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011). Claflin has recently finished filming My Cousin Rachel alongside Rachel Weisz, due for release next year. Additional film credits include Love, Rosie (2014), The Riot Club (2014), and Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) in which he played the Prince Charming character William, alongside Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, and Chris Hemsworth. Claflin recently reprised that role for a cameo in the sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016).
